Billing Services for EMS providers
Emergency Medical Management Solutions (EMMS) will work with you and your staff to maximize reimbursement with a minimum of hassle through effective management of your revenue recovery/billing program. Our experienced staff will bill the appropriate party, post payments, and provide reports to our clients regarding our billing activities. Monies received are deposited directly into Client accounts, for which we have “deposit only” access. Decisions regarding collection activities are made by each client service, and will be referred according to client service directives.
EMMS utilizes state of the art billing software designed by Ortivus (Sweet-Soft) , the industry leader in electronic billing. EMMS software provides for electronic field data collection, electronic run form (PCR) creation, quality analysis/improvement functions and reporting, and submission of data for electronic billing. When a client service wishes to come on-line with electronic field data collection and run forms, we can support any electronic field data collection software meeting the NEMSIS Gold Standard selected by the client .
Most people have third party (insurance) coverage for payment of emergency ambulance services. In fact, many states, including Connecticut, require insurers to provide this coverage. This insurance coverage has been paid for through employer and individual health insurance premiums, and taxes, which help support Medicare and public assistance programs. When ambulance providers choose not to collect monies available through third-party payors, they are allowing insurers to keep money that has been built into premiums to pay for ambulance services. As a result, emergency ambulance providers are forced to subsidize operations through tax support and/or charitable contributions, for which there is a dwindling pool of money.
